In Memoriam
Dean (and founder) of the College of Wilderness Knowledge
Forestry Instructor
Bob was an avid outdoorsman. He camped, hiked, canoed, and fished for decades. Bob was trained as a Forester and taught our course in Forestry. However, his many years of outdoor experience qualified him to teach most of our courses.
Bob had been a youth leader and Scoutmaster for over 35 years. He had a strong belief that every child should experience the outdoors in a wilderness setting. He believed that stronger, more self-confident and aware youth are the result of wilderness experiences. His four children, all active in the outdoors with their families, are a great testimony to that belief.
Bob fished in Canada, hunted in South Dakota, hiked and hunted in Norway, attended Tomahawk with his troop for two weeks each year for 35 years and traveled extensively. But most importantly, Bob shared his enthusiasm and many talents with any and all who were willing to step into the wilderness with him
