School of Woodland Knowledge – Program Coordinator and Instructor
Camp Host

I’ve been camping at Birch bend since the spring of 2005. The first time was with troops 71 and 715 for the Eagle’s Nest outing. What a great experience. I have a unique background as having experienced working with Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts in Europe as a Cub Scout Dad and Public Relations Chair for Girl Scouts in Rota Spain, during my time serving our Country. After returning I became involved with Pack 471 and Troop 71 as Assistant Scoutmaster and Committee Chair; my son worked his way to Eagle Scout. As a member of the Pine Bend Association, I have been supporting the campground and programs of Pine Bend as a CWK Camp Host, instructor, running the School of Woodland Knowledge program for Webelos and assisting with the Administration Building.

I enjoy outdoor activities and sharing the knowledge I have acquired with youth and adults. I have learned it is a two-way street when working with youngsters, as they have taught me a thing or two over the years. I am excited about the start of this year’s camping season and programs.  I will be keeping a spot open by the campfire for you and your group. See you in the great outdoors.
